Diana Brosten was honored as one of two recipients of the President’s medal. Dian
a is graduating June 11, 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Summa Cum Laude with College Honors from the University College Honors Program and with distinction by completing the School of Nursing honors program.Dr. Josephine Ensign and Dr. Susan Spieker were Diana’s faculty mentors for the honors program in nursing. Diana came to the University of Washington as a freshman and has participated in the UW Honors program starting her first quarter at UW. Prior to UW, Diana attended High School in Kalispell, Montana and earned an International Baccalaureate during High School.
Diana joins Dr. Pamela Mitchell as only one of two nursing students to win the President's medal.
The President’s Medal is awarded to two graduating seniors who have achieved the most distinguished academic records at the University—one to a student who has completed at least three-fourths of his or her degree requirements at the UW and one to a student who entered the University from a Washington community college.
